Betty Jean Sugick transitioned to her heavenly home on July 4, 2024 in Lexington, South Carolina.
Betty Jean was born on December 14, in Washington, DC. She was the daughter of the late Kurlina Gardner and the late Milas Barr.
Betty Jean spent most of her life in this community. She Graduated from the Twin City High School, and was a member of Hall Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, later joining Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. She was the director of Youth Explosion and a member of the Missionary Board and sang on the Sanctuary Choir.
Betty Jean was married to Walter Clay Sugick until her passing.
Betty worked various jobs to include Wagner Manufacturing, retiring from the Babcock center and served as a foster parent to over 75 children through the Department of Social Services.
Betty Jean was preceded in passing by her parents, her daughter Tammie C Peterson; Brothers Buster Muller, Cornell, Robert Lee, Mitchell Cannon, and Michael; Sister Nettie Hill.
Those left to cherish the memories of the life she lived her husband Walter C. Sugick; Sons Dea. Gregory (Michelle) Peterson and Jermaine Peterson; Daughters Lisa M. Glasper, Kawana (Reggie) Ford, De'Jeanette Jenkins; Grandchildren Kasherrie, Jalessa, Jermaine Jr., Damien (DJ), Keadjha, Cameron, Tiara (Marlin), Favor, Joy, Desiree, ; Brothers John (JT) Cannon, Rev Jeffrey Cannon, Jamie Gary, Joe L. (Eva) Barr; Sisters Valerie Barr, Vanessa (Eddie) B Jackson, Linda (Thomas) Marshall, Victoria (Zavean) Ware and a host of great grandchildren, 3 uncles, 2 aunts, One special aunt Beatrice Stephens, 3 special nieces of the home, Jada Gary, Jasmine Gary, and Tiara Gary, a number of brothers and sisters in law, other family members and friends.
