Betty Ruth Brayboy Smith was born on August 24, 1948 to Alma and David Dunbar. She went peacefully to be with the Lord on August 3, 2018. Betty was educated in Aiken County Public School System graduating in 1968. She joined Jerusalem Branch Baptist Church at an early age. Betty worked several years at Ducane in Williston, SC and Wagener Manufacturing in Wagener, SC. Betty was preceded in death by her biological father George Brayboy, uncle Phillip Lloyd and loving aunts Doris Lloyd and aunt Jeanette Ables. Those left to cherish the beautiful memories of Betty are her mother Alma (David) Dunbar, her children Sonya (Dante) McKenzie of Salley, SC and Taunya (Willie) Swedenburg of Wagener, SC; four grandchildren Jerel Swedenburg and Taunija Swedenburg of Wagener, SC, Oriana Smith and Tayvon McKenzie of Salley, SC; brother George Brayboy ll, sister Annette Andrews Philadelphia, PA; two uncles Joseph (Marion) Lloyd of Beach Island, SC, Willie (Bertha) Lloyd Jr. of Miami, FL; a special cousin Connie Jones of Washington, DC and many other family members and friends.

Service Information

Visitation for Betty Smith will be Tuesday August 7, 2018 from 4-7 pm at the J. H. Robinson Funeral Home Wagener, SC. Funeral services for Ms. Betty will be at 1 PM on Wednesday August 8, 2018 at the Jerusalem Branch Baptist Church, 576 Jerusalem Branch Road Salley, SC 29137.
