Betty M. Sampson was the daughter of the late James "Dad" Mitchell and Lucy Kinard Mithcell. Betty was born in their Lexington County Home on November 30, 1950. She attended the Twin City Schools of Batesburg, SC.
At a young age she joined Friendship Missionary Baptist Church and became a faithful member. She later joined the Bryant Hall Senior Missionary. While working at the Wagener MFG Company in Wagener, SC, she met and married Alex Sampson, Jr. She was preceded in death by her sister: Mary Ann Workfield, and her son: Master William Rae Mitchell.
She leaves to cherish her loving and kind-hearted memories a husband: Alex Sampson Jr., Perry, SC; one son Kelvin (Regina) Mitchell of the Home; Three daughters: Lawanda Sampson of the Home, Lasonya Mitchell and Shamara Mitchell, Batesburg, SC; one brother: James (Luella) Mitchell Jr. of Batesburg, SC; one sister: Carrie (David) Williams of Batesburg, SC, Three Grandchildren: Shanequa Jackson, Kavongh Mitchell of Wagener, SC, Daikei Cott Mitchell; A special stepson Tyrone Williams of Wagener, One foster sister, Valerie Dent, Aldephi, Maryland, two aunts: Mattie Alewine of Batesburg, SC; Rosa Tyler of North, SC; five Sister-in-laws, 2 brother-in-laws, close family friend: Jim Roberts, a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and a host of family and friends who will truly miss her.

VISITATION
The family of the late Betty Lou Mitchell Sampson will be accepting friends and wellwishers on Monday, March 4 from 2:00pm until 7:00pm at the J.H. Robinson Funeral Home, 190 Railroad ave., Wagener, SC 29164.
FUNERAL SERVICES
Funeral services for Betty Sampson will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 302 Brodie Rd., Leesville SC at 2:30 pm. Visitation will be available at the church beginning at 1:30pm on the day of services.
