Betty Desle, a cherished member of her community and beloved family matriarch, passed away on January 27, 2026, in Aiken, South Carolina. Born on March 15, 1950, in Aiken County, Betty was a lifelong resident who embraced life with an open heart and an unwavering spirit.

A proud graduate of A.L. Corbett High School, Betty entered into a life filled with love and dedication. She devoted many years of her career to the Granitville Mill, where her hard work and determination made her a respected figure among her colleagues.

Betty was not only a dedicated worker but also a vibrant soul who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was a devoted member of the Sardis Missionary Baptist Church, where she built deep connections and shared her faith with others. Betty treasured her time spent with family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored fiercely. She often enjoyed life’s moments by relaxing with her loved ones, traveling, meeting community members, or taking pride in her yard work.

Betty leaves behind her beloved husband, Alfred Desle, whose companionship brought her so much joy. She is also survived by her loving daughter, Denice (Henry) Peterson, and son, Manuel Stroman. Betty’s legacy continues through her grandchildren, Henry "JJ" Peterson, John Stroman, Taj Stroman, KeyShaun Simmons, and Trinity Peterson, as well as her great-grandchild, Jamier Stroman. Her two sisters, Pansy (Lewis) Butler and Brenda Stroman, hold dear the memories they shared and the bonds they cultivated over the years. Additionally, treasured cousins Betsy Stroman and Eveyn Jones will remember Betty’s warmth and vibrant spirit.

Betty’s passing is felt deeply, particularly among those who knew her best, including her late brothers John, Robert Lee, Flenzy, Lowman (Deloris), and Albert Jr. Stroman, alongside her beloved parents, Alber and Ruth Stroman.
