Mr. Anthony Bethea was born on March 19, 1961, to Patsy Dean Bethea and the late Clark Benjamin Thompson. He peacefully transitioned from this life on February 4, 2025. Raised in Lexington County, South Carolina, Anthony was educated in the Lexington County public school system and Charlotte, North Carolina, Mecklenburg County.
Anthony had a passion for sports and was known for playing basketball and football. He had a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures in life and loved traveling with his family and spending time with his grandchildren. Anthony proudly served his country for seven years in the United States Army.
Anthony attended Sandy Level Baptist Church when his health allowed. He loved family gatherings and especially the neighborhood cookouts. He had passion of driving trucks and held many careers including waste management and pest control.
Anthony was preceded in death by his father, Clark Thompson; sisters, Nicole Bethea and Miakey Renita Davis, and brothers: Nicholas Taylor and Kerry Taylor.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Maurice Bethea of Atlanta, GA, Nicholas (Latondi) Bethea of Lexington, SC, Tequilla Bethea of Columbia, SC, Hazia Bethea of the home, Opal (Dewayne) Ponds of McBee, SC; his significant other of 28 years, Pamela Hough of the home; brothers, Kelvin (Maria) Bethea, Benjamin (Marilyn) Thompson; sisters, Tonya (Barry) Gallman, Tikethia Thompson, Wendy (Kevin) Bates, Clarsha (William) Frederick; two adopted children, Kandi, Michael Parker; fifteen grandchildren along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other loving relatives and friends
