Alwillie Wooden peacefully transitioned to her heavenly home on June 29, 2024.
Alwillie was the daughter of the Late Lawrence and Ida Bell McCullough. She was born in Aiken County on December 24, 1922.
Alwillie was a lifelong member of the community. She completed the 11th grade in the education system of that time. She was an active member of Zion Hill Baptist Church of Salley, SC until her health failed.
Alwillie had many talents. She enjoyed cooking, babysitting, fishing and spending time with her family. She was a well-respected member of the community.
Alwillie was preceded in passing by her parents, her husband Curtis Wooden Sr., one son Bobby McCullough, a daughter Betty McCullough; four brothers Jackson, John, and Henry McCullough and L.D. Scott; and two sisters, Ida Mae and Willa Mae McCullough.
Those left to cherish the life lived by Alwillie include: Four sons, Curtis (Joane who has passed) Wooden of Wagener, Donnie (Bernetha) Wooden of Savannah GA, Eddie Lee (Corine who has passed) Wooden of Wagener, SC, Ronnie (Sennia) Wooden of Salley, SC; Three daughters Eartha Dean (John Lee who has passed) James of Norway, SC, Christa Fulmer of Salley, SC and Debra Wooden of Salley, SC and a host of other family members and friends.
