Shirley R Davis

Shirley Rose Davis was born on November 10, 1938 in Ayden, North Carolina. She was the eldest daughter of the late Mack Chapman and Estelle Chapman. She was also the beloved wife of the late great Clarence F Davis.

Shirley Rose graduated from South Ayden High School and went on to pursue sewing as she became a seamstress, sewing was a huge passion of hers.

She then choose the path of working the disabled children in the Department of Transportation for Lexington School District One in 1988 where she then retired from in 2014.

When Shirley was well, she was very active in her church. She served on the Jubilee Choir which she absolutely loved. Singing was her greatest passion of all. She was extremely musically inclined. I can remember times of her sitting at her kitchen table playing her guitar, singing songs, and having some of her greatest times.

Shirley rose leaves behind her 3 children; Tarish Davis, Jamaal Davis (Kelli), and Latisha Davis of whom all she loved very deeply. She also leaves behind 5 grandchildren; Destiny Lynch, Kevon Anderson, Madison Davis, Kayla Davis, and Jordon Davis. One great-grandchild Noel Williams. Four wonderful sisters, Shelby Jean Pittmon (Sammie), Mary Elizabeth Gilford, Annie Ruth Morton(Henry), Linda Faye Best (Jeffrey) and a host of nieces, nephew, family, and many friends. Our family thanks each and every one of you for the out pour of love, sympathy, and support.
